A REGULAR GUY FOR A DAY

Jea arrived at Incheon Airport at exactly nine a.m. She didn’t expect that this trip to Korea would actually happen. All she did was buy her mother’s groceries and befor she knew it, she already won a ticket to Korea. She never wished to go to Korea but she took this opportunity to reach a foreign country.

“What the hell? I never knew that Korea would look this great” that was her first step in Seoul before she checked-in in one hotel.

She spent her first day on a tour bus and took pictures of those awesome sites that she can’t see in the Philippines.

She spent her second and third day with a new friend she met on the bus the other day. They have the same nationality sot it was easy for them to communicate and have fun.

She spent her forth day alone but she was still happy and can’t get enough of the gorgeous scenery

Her fifth day was a bit different than the first four days. She didn’t even imagine that it would happen. It was surely unexpected

“You should take a rest, hyung. You’ve been really stressed out these days” Key suggested as they gather in the living room
“Isn’t this called ‘taking a rest’?” Onew asked oddly then threw his body on the sofa
“No. What I mean is go out and take a short walk. That would be relaxing” Key explained

“What if fans recognize me?” it was what Onew worry about. He was afraid of being chased by fan girls coz that will stress him more.
“Stop worrying and just do it” the other SHINee boys pushed him out the door.

Onew didn’t have a choice but to do it. It was a really cool day. He went to the park where only few people were there. He sat on a bench and kept himself steady. He stared blankly at the sky. Few recognized him and few just didn’t care. He was already fine with it rather than having people taking pictures of him. That will be very disturbing.

“Excuse me~” a girl came up to him
“Please, don’t be a fan, please, don’t be a fan, please, don’t be a fan” he wished and looked up

“Can I ask what time is it?” Onew was surprised by her question
“It’s ten a.m.” he simply answered
“Thanks. Yes, I still have time to take a break before eating lunch” she turned around and smiled

“Eh? She didn’t ask my autograph or even take a picture with me? That’s weird” he stared curiously as the girl continue walking

“Miss, miss. Don’t you know me?” he followed the girl
She turned her head before answering
“How am I supposed to know?” she asked and walked away. She thought that Onew was being a little weird

“Aren’t you Korean?” he continued following her
“Do I look like Korean?” she tried to make her point. Onew shook her head and was a little embarrassed

The he thought of something really unusual to relieve his stress. He didn’t stop going after the girl. The girl got irritated and gave him a fierce look

“What do you want?!” she shouted that surprised Onew more
“Can I know your name?” Onew asked and smiled nicely
“Jea~” she easily answered
“I’m O—Jinki~” he bowed ninety degrees

“Where are you going?” it was obvious that Onew had nothing to do
“Places where my feet bring me”
“Can I come?” Onew had this really calm expression that made Jea nod.

They were total strangers at first, but who would think that they’d easily communicate with each other? Jea started to starve; her tummy started making weird sounds but she didn’t want to tell Onew since she’s a little shy about it.

“Are you hungry?” she grinned at Onew’s question. She was waiting for him to ask that
“I know a place” Onew pulled her and run to a really unfamiliar restaurant

“What would you like to eat?” Onew asked after taking a seat
“Hmm…. Chicken?” Onew giggled at her answer

They ordered chicken, fried chicken to be exact. It was what they wanted and nothing else

“Cha… EVERYBODY CHICKEN!” Onew shouted and dived in to the food

In the middle of their meal, Jea noticed something strange around her. She ahd to stop from eating since it was really creepy for her

“Jinki…” she whispered
“Oh?”
“Why is everyone staring at us?” her eyes circled around the place
“I don’t know, maybe they just like to have chicken, too” Onew didn’t want Jea to know what he really was better for him coz he doesn’t want Jea to just ignore him.

“Finish up your food”

Jea and Onew talks about some stuff—about Jea’s life, about Onew’s life, about their childhood, and everything that they could think of. They didn’t stop talking. They didn’t run out of words. They only wish for one thing—for this day wouldn’t end. But the time passed quickly and it was already night time. Jea hated it. It was better than her first step in Korea.

“So, what are you doing tomorrow?” Onew asked before they go on separate ways
“I’ll be busy packing my things~” Jea sighed
“What do you mean?”
“I’m leaving Korea in two days. And I have to prepare my things” she sighed again
“That’s kinda disappointing” it made Onew sighed, too.

“But we’ll meet again, right?” Onew asked not loosing hope
“Of course, I can’t promise that I’ll be back but I’ll try” they smiled at each other and said their goodbyes

“Hyung, where were you?” Minho was obviously worried
“We were looking for you the whole day” Jonghyun added
“We thought you were lost” Taemin sounded awful
“We said, just take a short walk not a whole day walk” Key stuck up.

“I’m fine. Stop worrying. I’m old enough to take care of myself” he went to their room and took a nap

Next day, Jea didn’t go out of her room. She stayed there the whole day and cleaned up the place. She just ordered pizza for lunch coz she can’t cook anything since she’s too busy. To chill her for a bit, she turned on the TV and watch a music program. She was amazed how Korean guys could dance so well and how can they look like girls. She even thinks they’re prettier than her.

“SHINee? Hmmm…” she was folding her clothes and stared at the TV
“Why does that guy looks so familiar?” she was pointing to Onew. Still, she didn’t realize anything yet. She didn’t care of the guy after that. She had something else to fret about; she has no time for those K-POP boy groups.

She gazed outside the airport before stepping on the plane. It was a really unforgettable experience for her. She met new friends, people and saw new places that she thought she would never see in her whole life. She pouted at her seat and think of things she can do in the Philippines now that she’ll be back. The plane started moving. She listened to her MP3. She listened to those Korean Songs that she heard in the TV, particularly ‘Juliette’. She remembered that guys that looked so familiar to her. She recalled his face and everything. Jea’s eyes was so wide open when she realized something

“JINKI!” it was too late. The plane was already moving. She was upset of herself that she didn’t become conscious on everything. That’s when she promised herself that she’ll come back no matter what just to see Onew again.

First week of September 2008 is one of the happiest week of my life. Bwahahhaha
